Service Projects

Each year approximately 30 to 45 baby quilts are made to be given to unwed mothers being cared for by Pregnancy Ministries.  The guild has also donated approximately 80 doll quilts a year to the Toy Mission so that each little girl receiving a doll from the mission has a quilt to go with it.

The Chambersburg Quilt Guild has raised thousands of dollars over the years through the sale of raffle tickets for our magnificent raffle quilts (click on pictures).  Each year the guild donates half the proceeds to a worthy organization voted on by our members.  Past recipients have included: The Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, Women in Need, the Council for the Arts, and the House of Grace.

Member-made quilts have also been donated to the American Cancer Society and the Council for the Arts to be auctioned.

Members also share their expertise, demonstrating quiltmaking at local events such as Luther Ridge.

In 2004, the guild undertook the enormous project of documenting the antique quilts of Franklin County, PA. This project has been a huge success, with nearly 900 quilts documented so far. To learn more click on Documentation.
